Pipe Insulation

Pipe Insulation is used to prevent heat loss and gain from pipes, to save energy and improve effectiveness of thermal systems.

In addition to reducing costs and environmental impacts of energy consumption, he benefits include:

  • Reducing or eliminating condensation on cold pipes
  • Protection from dangerous pipe temperatures
  • Reduced wait time for hot water
  • Control of noise
  • Reduction of unwanted heat gain to air-conditioned spaces

 

Duct Insulation

Uninsulated or poorly insulated ducts in unconditioned spaces can lose 10%-30% of the energy used to heat and cool the space through conduction. Heating and cooling equipment then has to compensate for the heat loss and gain by conditioning additional air, which, in turn, raises energy bills.  In addition, when ducts lose heat through conduction, rooms served by long duct runs can experience "cold blow" during the winter because they usually have lower heating-supply temperatures.

Ducts in conditioned spaces experience minimal conductive losses and gains since they are exposed to indoor air temperatures. However, these ducts may also require some insulation to prevent condensation on duct walls and to ensure that conditioned air is delivered at the desired temperature.

You can greatly improve both the thermal and acoustic performance of your existing metal ducts by wrapping them with duct insulation (also known as duct wrap).  When properly wrapped and sealed with the recommended tape, your ducts will deliver air at a consistent temperature from room to room and save energy by reducing the energy lost from bare metal surfaces.

 

Removable blankets

Removable blankets are designed for use on furnaces, boilers, heated vessels, ducts, tanks and other systems operating at temperatures up to 850°F (454°C). They significantly reduce heat loss with outstanding thermal performance, and provide added safety protection. Removable blankets are made from a variety of materials, and are individually measured and fabricated to fit any piece of equipment.

We fabricate removable, reusable blanket systems from 260°F Cryogel blankets for LNG lines to superheated steam equipment, exhaust and incinerator systems at 1800°+ F.
